BA; MA; PhD. (political science, field of comparative politics). Currently, Editor-in-Chief, Al-Ahram political quarterly "Democracy Review"(AL-Dimocratiya) the first academic review in Arabic language specialized in the issues democratic developments and the promotion of liberal values in the Middle East (since 2000). Political Writer and Columnist, Al-Ahram Daily, the largest Egyptian newspaper. Op-Ed Writer, written many editorials and articles in a variety of renowned international publications, includes The Washington Post, Current History, New York Times, Financial Times, Herald Tribune and others. Publisher of several Study and Policy Papers in American Think Tanks, as in Foundation for Defense of Democracies and the Washington Institute for Near East Policy Planning. Author, for numerous Books addressing Islamic fundamentalism, the Clash between Islam and the West, Arab Political Culture, and Political Parties, in addition to the status of Democratization and Reform Policies in the Arab Muslim world. Book Co-Author, along with different International and Egyptian writer, published by many international Press Houses. Visiting Fellow, the Washington Institute for Near East Policy (Washington D.C, fall 2003, and May 2006). Visiting Lecturer: The Institute of Diplomatic Training, (Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs); Postgraduate Department, Faculty of Economics And Political Sciences, (Cairo University); and Egyptian National Military Academy. Member: Supreme Policies Planning Council at the National Democratic Party (Egypt's Ruling Party) since 2002; Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs; Arab Thought Forum (Amman, Jordan), and the Advisory Board of Al-Ahram International Political Journal (Al-Siyassa Al-Dawliya).
